Turracher Höhe (ski-hiking) area with toboggan run and Gerlitzen is also within easy reach. Family area Hochrindle, ski-hiking area offers favorable prices in the winter.

Central location and good base from Gurkhof.

Gnesau

Located in Gnesau near the Bad Kleinkirchheim region which together with Sankt Oswald included a large ski area including cross-country skiing area, 2 thermal baths and saunas and a 18 -holes golf course. Also the Turracher Höhe is ideal as a ski area due to its higher location and forms the “gateway” to the National Park Nockberge.

Gerlitzen, Hochrindle (Ski areas/walking areas), Ossiacher See, Millstättersee and Wörthersee are quickly accessible. Central location in relation to the activities with the Carinthian card (www.kaerntencard.at). Larger places are Villach and Klagenfurt. Italy and Slovenia are suitable for day trips. National Park Nockbergen of which Gurkhof is located on the edge, organizes many nature activities. There are many mountainbikee trails or you can cycling around the lakes.

There are many restaurants in the country and alpine huts to enjoy the local delicacies or when you love music to visit the cultural events.
